We are so excited that you’re interested in helping us to raise money with our concession stand at Coors Field this year. It’s an incredible opportunity for our small organization that will allow us to do amazing things. With that naturally comes a lot of questions, which we’re here to answer. Here are some of the top questions we’ve been asked since announcing this new volunteer program:

Q: How does the fundraiser work, exactly? 

A: MQC has partnered with Aramark, the company that manages all of the food and beverage at Coors Field. As such, they run a program for NPO’s where they train the NPO staff to run one of many concession stands around the stadium. In turn, the organization will operate the stand during select Rockies games and receive either $80 per volunteer or 10% of the stand sales. It’s a great way for us to have fun while raising funds for MQC.

Q: What benefits do I get as a volunteer? 

A: In return for your time at the stadium, you will receive discounted parking, free entry to the stadium, an employee meal, and a share of any tips collected by the stand during your shift. More importantly, you’ll serve alongside others and have a lot of fun.

Q: How long are the shifts? 

A: Volunteers will report approximately 2.5 hours before the game is scheduled to begin and will work about 6.5 hours. All start times are listed on the sign up page. The stand is open for the full duration of the game, so if the game should go extra innings, we’ll keep working until the game is over.

Q: Can I bring my kids? 

A: Children aged 16+ are allowed to volunteer. As our stand provides food and alcohol service, children under the age of 16 will not be permitted to participate for safety and legal reasons.

Q: Do I need experience? 

A: No experience in food service or a restaurant setting is required. However, you will need to complete a required training with Aramark to orient you on stadium rules, food safety and alcohol safety. You will also be issued your ID badge that you’ll use to access the stadium on game day. This training must be completed prior to your first shift with us. Q: How soon in advance do I need to register for volunteer dates?

A: You can select your volunteer dates at any time, but registration for any given game will be closed 72 hours prior to the game.

Q: What do I wear?

A: You will need to wear black pants (no denim or stretchy pants will be allowed) and soft-soled (preferably black) shoes. As our stand is on the outer perimeter, we will be exposed to the elements, so if you’d like to layer, wear neutral colors. We will provide you with a polo shirt to wear the day of the game. Additional uniform requirements will be covered in training.
