An Evening Celebrating My Quiet Cave featuring Author Greg Knopf, MD
May 12, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm$32.64
Please join us for our second annual gala as we celebrate the work that God has done through My Quiet Cave—from building community partnerships to helping those struggling with mental illness find hope in their daily lives. We’ll enjoy a cocktail hour, featuring wine tastings and light hors d’oeuvres, and then come together for a lively keynote from author Greg Knopf, MD.
My Quiet Cave works to bring together faith and mental health communities from Denver, greater Colorado, and beyond. Our goal is to help people overcome the challenges that mental illness can bring so that they may experience abundant life.
About the Speaker:
Dr. Greg Knopf is the author of Demystifying Depression. Feeling sad, anxious, hopeless or depressed is mystifying because there seems to be so many confusing explanations for what is causing a person to feel so bad. Instant “cures” are promised by a host of supposed experts touting everything from vitamins and herbs to positive thinking. It is no wonder that people are bewildered.
Let’s be perfectly honest: there is no one simple explanation for every hurting person, but the good news is there are reliable medical insights that can provide hope for genuine healing and restoration.
Dr. Knopf aslo practices family medicine in Troutdale, Oregon and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Adventist Medical Center and Providence Portland Medical Center. He received his medical degree from Oregon Health & Science University School of Medicine and has been in practice for 39 years.
